Hi friends! Jeff and I have decided that we do not want to do a standard ‘baby shower’ and I just wanted to clear that up before you get confused about anything. We want to celebrate our little peanut with everyone and look forward to having your whole family join us for lunch and a fun celebration on June 12th.
Over the years I have missed numerous baby showers for my own mental health and I do not want anyone to feel obligated to have to attend or to buy anything. We mostly just want to see your smiling faces and if you feel like you would like to get something for Baby Brown that is completely optional.
We will not be doing a nursery and we plan on being very minimal in our items. I have some amazing friends who have recently had babies and have given us so much stuff (including lots and lots of clothes). The items we are missing will be on our registry below. We feel completely honored for the love and support we have gotten from everyone and all those who have given us their gently used items.
Please refrain from buying diapers as we will be using cloth diapers only. As most of you know I am also very particular about what products we use in our home to avoid as many chemicals and toxins as possible. For this reason, I have researched numerous baby wipes and the winner is Caboo Bamboo Wipes. I will be buying these through my Thrive Market membership at a discounted price with my autoship order. Gift cards for Thrive Market are available on the registry.
Baby books are also welcome and my doula suggested I mention massage gift certificates for myself as an option for once baby is here. My preferred place to get a massage is at Teresa Bertke Nutritional Care in St. Marys (419-394-2547). Again these are just ideas as I do not want anyone to feel obligated to buy anything but I know several people will ask.
Our registry is through BabyList and you can find it here https://www.babylist.com/ywsdutesf
We are looking forward to seeing you! Oh, for those wondering we have not revealed the gender of the baby and do not ‘plan’ to until he/she arrives 😉
