Are you ready to try chicken noodle soup in the crockpot? I wanted to be sure I was providing you with a great recipe so, I have tried this one out numerous times to make sure it was share-worthy. It is easy to make and just goes right in the freezer until you are ready to pull it out and pop it in the crockpot for supper. Chicken Noodle Soup Freezer Meal Recipe for the Crockpot
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite sized chunks
1/2 lb. (4-5 large) carrots, peeled and diced
1 small yellow onion, diced
2-3 large ribs celery, diced
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
8 oz. egg noodles (needed on day of cooking)
8 cups chick broth (needed on day of cooking)
Supplies:
1 gallon-sized plastic freezer bag
Prep:
1) Label your freezer bag (Chicken Noodle Soup), cooking instructions (write what ingredients you need to add on day of cooking, and use by date (around 3 months)
2) Add all ingredients to freezer bag except the noodles and broth
3) Remove as much air from the bag, seal it, and lay flat in the freezer
Cooking:
1) The night before cooking, move the freezer bag to the refrigerator to thaw
2) The day of cooking, add contents of bag to crockpot with chicken broth
3) Cook on low for 6-8 hours
4) Add noodles and cook for another 15 minutes
5) Remove bay leaf and enjoy
This recipe yields 6 servings and is still yummy warmed back up for leftovers.
